I've decided to try out a new feature here on OLR since we all love video game music I wanted to do a track of the week.
With this I'll pick a piece of video game or game related music and put it up for you guys to listen to and get nostalgic about.
Since Street Fighter 4 is all the rage right now I thought I'd take a step back and play my favorite track from my favorite Street Fighter game.
This weeks track is "Let's Get It On" from "Street Fighter III 3rd Strike" Please note due to copyright issues I can not make this song available for you to download directly.
Composed by Hideki Okugawa (奥河英樹). INFINITE was the one who rapped the lyrics. Hideki is mostly known for his work in the Street Fighter 3 series (1997-1999).
This is one of my favorite pieces of music from modern video games. It's catchy and all around awesome. When you would get taken to the character select screen in Street Fighter 3 you were damn happy to be there just because of this song.
If you've got a song you would like to see featured or just remember something cool from some game let me know in the comments and I'll see what I can do about featuring it in an up coming article!
OH MY GOD GTA4 HAS NUDITY! ... and other mass hysteria hits the gaming circuit this week, but do we at Orange Lounge Radio really care? What about the live chatters?
There is lots going on in the world of movies made out of games and vice versa. A new Alice game is set to come out for the PC. Also, is it really possible they once wanted to make a movie out of Mega Man, or did someone make that up?
In Part B tonight, we talk about the confirmed release date for the DSi and Rhythm Heaven: April 5th. Our fair state of residence has had another setback in a controversial video game law. Also, news on how you can fjord the river on your iPhone!
All this and more including the Classic Game of the week, How was your gaming week, FUs of the week, release dates, the mailbag, and YOU THE GAMER via our chatroom, phone lines and any way we can get you on the air! It is all on the show where every gamer has a voice: Orange Lounge Radio!
As our listerners are probably well aware, I'm a huge fan of the Wii racing game Excite Truck. It was a gem of a launch title for the Wii although is was overlooked by many, which is a shame. It's hands-down the best racing game on the Wii, even better than Mario Kart in my opinion. Well last week Nintendo announced a brand new racing title that will be hitting the Wii in April. A follow up to Excite Truck. Although little has been revealed so far about it. So what is it exactly? Nintendo's brief retail description might shed some light on this:
"Get your friends together and grab your Wii Wheel (TM) accessories for action-packed raucous racing. ExciteBots: Trick Racing takes the big-air thrills and simple controls of Excite Truck (TM) and ramps up the fun with a non-stop barrage of funky challenges and mini-games performed at blinding speed. You won't believe your eyes when you find yourself shooting goals, throwing pies and even playing poker in the middle of racing robotic animals and insects around off-road tracks. "
So by the sound of things it looks like with the help of Monster Game's they are creating a racing / party game hybrid. This sounds interesting especially if it does control like Excite Truck. I hope the racing element isn't overshadowed or ruined by the party game element although I have pretty good faith that Monster Games will unleash another great racing game. I'm also looking forward to the new Wi-Fi multiplayer for up to 6 racers (or robots I guess).
So what is an ExciteBot? Read more for a glimpse at the cover to see for your self:
